Trash -
Placement of Bags/Containers:
Have your trash in appropriate containers and at the curb by 7:00 am on your collection day, but no earlier than 7:00 pm the prior evening. Trash bags/containers shall be placed at the inside edge of the sidewalk. Make sure that it isn’t obstructed from view by fences, hedges, or automobiles and is directly accessible to the trash collection employee.
Containment of Trash Items:
Trash must be placed in cans, disposable cartons, or plastic bags, which must be tied securely. Each container or bag must not exceed a weight of 50 pounds. All containers (not to exceed 32-gallon capacity) must have a tight-fitting cover kept in place at all times. Yard clippings such as grass and leaves should be bagged, and bags must be tied securely.
Tree limbs must be no longer than 4 feet in length and no more than 18 inches in diameter, tied in bundles. Each bundle must not be heavier than 50 pounds.
Cool fireplace ashes and bag separately.
Excessive volumes of trash will not be collected, as determined by the City.
Materials Not Collected:
• Hazardous waste chemicals (pesticides, paint products, oil, concrete, automotive batteries, biological or medical waste.) For disposal information of these items call Tri-County Health at 303-288-6816.
• Waste generated by a contractor also not collected.
Large Item Services:
A large item service is available. The resident must call Waste Management at 303-797-1600 at least 24 hours before his/her normal trash day.
This service is designed for large items such as an appliance or piece of furniture. Auto parts (engine blocks, transmissions, and auto body parts) will not be permitted.

Trash service will be delayed by one day if the holiday falls on or before your normally scheduled trash day.
Drop-off Recycling:
Recycling bins are provided for newspaper, glass, aluminum cans, and plastic at: 7450 Highway 2 and at the
D&R Transfer Station at 6091 Brighton
Boulevard.
