KEEP IT CLEAN ‘CAUSE WE’RE ALL DOWNSTREAM
We are looking for volunteers!
Help us educate the community on how to keep unwanted chemicals and products from entering our creeks and rivers. Commerce City is looking for volunteers to help label storm drains with special markers.
Attention New Home Owners:
Do not remove erosion and sediment control until landscaping is installed. If removed without installed landscaping you are subject to a $1000 fine per violation.

What is Erosion and Sediment Control?
Erosion and Sediment Control is used during and after the construction process to prevent excess soil from entering our waterways. Soil is highly vulnerable to erosion by wind and water; it then enters our waterways and provides an unhealthy environment for fish and other aquatic life. To protect our waterways, it is a requirement that homebuilders install erosion and sediment control such as stormwater inlet protection, silt fences, erosion blankets, erosion logs, and straw bales. It is essential that you leave all forms of erosion and sediment control in their place not only to avoid a fine, but also to promote a healthy environment.
