Commerce City Police Department is committed to positive interaction with youth. Such interaction helps to develop long term relationships with the all citizens of Commerce City. Programs such as school resource officers, neighborhood outreach events, Every 15 Minutes, and the police explorers are examples of positive interaction.
Jam Program
The School Resource Officer team teaches the Juveniles Achieving More (JAM) program throughout each school year. The program focuses on helping students make the right choices, by teaching students about the effects of bullying, drugs and alcohol, weapons, gangs, and self-esteem.
Every 15 Minutes
This 1½ day program teaches students of the devastating effects of drinking and driving, without real-life tragedy. More info...
Explorer
Established in 1992 in partnership with the Boy Scouts of America Police Explorer Program offers youth, ages 14 to 21 years old, the opportunity to get an inside look into a career in law enforcement through volunteer work, participation in community events, training and the police ride along program. Teen Court
Through this monthly program, students from Adams City High School are able to have criminal cases resolved through a jury of their peers, rather than the criminal justice system. More info...
