Priority definitions

Priority One – “In Progress Calls” (I/P) – Events which are occurring as the citizen is reporting it to 911.
- Any event where there is imminent threat to life or property or involves a large group of people where immediate police intervention is required.
Priority Two – Normally “Just Occurred” (JO) - Events that have occurred within 5 to 15 minutes of the call into 911.
- Officers are normally dispatched with 5 minutes and include calls where no imminent threat to life or property exists.
- Includes calls where the suspect has left the area.
Priority Three – “Cold” events - An event where there is no threat to life or property and occurred over 20 minutes prior to the call into 911
- Do not expect immediately response to this event.
- Officers will not respond to this event until all other priority one and two events are investigated.
