School Resource Officer
Division: Administration and Information Operations
The School Resource Officer (SRO) team provides police services to all Commerce City Schools and follow the triad philosophy of "police officer, teacher and mentor." The JAM (Juveniles Achieving More) program is used to teach various topics ranging from Stranger-Danger to Gang Awareness, Conflict Resolution, Drug/Alcohol Awareness, Staff/Parent classes on school trends, etc.
The team is dedicated to building partnerships with the youth and schools in our community. The team works with students and staff from both the Adams County School District 14 and Brighton School District 27-J, providing guidance, mentoring, and law enforcement services to over 8,000 students and staff, at several school campuses. The SRO Team works closely with the school districts to constantly improve school safety.
