Division: Support Operations
The North Metro Task Force (NMTF) is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force made up of Adams County and the City and County of Broomfield, and the Cities of Brighton, Commerce City, Northglenn, Federal Heights, Thornton and Westminster operating under an Inter-Governmental Agreement. The NMTF targets street level drug violators and investigate major drug distribution groups identified through street level investigations. The NMTF places a strong emphasis on the investigation of manufacturing, possession, distribution, sales, and use of illegal controlled substances.
Commerce City has detectives assigned to the task force. The task force is administered by the City and County of Broomfield with oversight by a board of directors comprised of the Chiefs and Sheriff of participating agencies.
The city’s participation is funded through grants and a budgetary allocation. The salary and benefits of the detectives that are assigned remain the responsibility of the City.
