The Animal Control Agents (ACA) are in charge of:
- Picking up strays
- Animal bite complaints
- Picking up surrendered pets
- Investigating animal cruelty cases
- Responding to the general animal complaints from citizens
- Providing training and education to the community on animal care and responsible ownership.
- Picking up DOA animals
Statistics for 2006
Commerce City Animal Control Unit’s Animal Control Agents (ACA) responded to 4,138 calls for service and impounded 1,200 animals.
