Citizen participation is strongly encouraged and helps to ensure our local government is truly addressing community needs. Each board and commission is entrusted with specific responsibilities as detailed in the Commerce City Charter, Commerce City Municipal Code, and/or by-laws or rules of procedure.  The responsibilities, powers, terms of office, membership size, qualifications, and meeting schedule vary for each board and commission.

Vacancies are advertised in the local newspapers and on the city’s Web site.  Members are appointed by City Council and must be Commerce City residents.
