MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING OF COMMERCE CITY CITY COUNCIL August 25, 2008 CALL TO ORDER A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Paul Natale on August 25, 2008, at 9:26 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Natale, presiding Mayor Pro-Tem Drotar Councilman Benson Councilman Jaquith Councilman Johnson Councilman McEldowney Councilman Lewis Councilwoman Snyder Councilwoman Teter COUNCIL BUSINESS:
Resolution 2008-45 RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY AND PROVIDING OTHER DETAILS RELATING THERETO Council members McEldowney and Johnson moved and seconded to excuse Councilman Benson from voting due to his involvement with the initiative petition committee.
VOICE VOTE: Unanimous: all voting affirmed, 1 abstention (Benson) Council members Jaquith and McEldowney moved and seconded to approve resolution 2008-45. City Attorney Robert Gehler read the title of resolution 2008-45: Resolution calling a special election in the City of Commerce City and providing other details relating thereto. ROLL CALL VOTE: 8 ayes: 1 abstention (Benson)
Resolution 2008-49 RESOLUTION APPROVING DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVES FOR the expansion of the Shamrock Foods FACILITY IN COMMERCE CITY. Shamrock foods have indicated that they will expand their facility to include a processing plant and will create an additional 100 jobs. The incentive package is for the amount of $137,020.00 in the form of rebated use tax paid by Shamrock Foods. Council members Teter and McEldowney moved and seconded to approve resolution 2008-49. City Attorney Robert Gehler read the title of resolution 2008-49: Resolution approving development incentives for the expansion of the Shamrock Foods facility in Commerce City. ROLL CALL VOTE: Unanimous
